What does Alva River mean to the Students of Seia Secondary School? What are the memories they have of the river? Read the texts below to find out:
A Day in the River – Ana Carolina Ferreira
“During my childhood, I always liked going to river beaches, to the river and walking outdoors. This was a way to have fun on summer holidays and spend time with people I really love. Most of the time, I went with my grandparents, we tried to find a quiet place to have a picnic and we played a lot in the water. Over the years, this habit becomes rarer, because of the advancing age of my grandparents and their consequent physical limitations. (…)” Read more here…
A family memory – Beatriz Barroca
“To begin with, I don’t really have a memory of a funny situation I went through near a river, but I will tell you one that I remember. On a summer day last year, my parents decided it would be a good day for a picnic. They called my grandparents and we all decided to spend the day at the Rossim Valley Dam. (…)” Read more here
Images and words around the River Alva – Francisco Alves; Jéssica Oliveira; João Cardos; João Pais; Lara Amaro

With this article we intend to share some of the images and words each student wrote and, thus, raise awareness to aspects of the river and its surrounding area. (…)” Read more here

Memories in the River Alva – Francisco Laranjo
“ It was a beautiful, shining morning of a typical summer here, in Portugal. I was about 10 years old, full of life and happy to be on vacation, without school, without problems. I just woke up when my mom, in a bit angry voice, told me we were going to travel because I was always on the computer and I should get some fresh air. So, we decided we should go to the river beach in Côja. (…)” Read more here
My best memory – André Cardoso
“On June 24, 2017, the morning was beautiful, excellent for strolling and discovering new places. It was 9:30 and my father informed us that we were going to spend the day away from home. I had just to prepare my backpack, but I had no idea where I was going, though I assumed we were going to a beach or a pool, because my mother told me to bring my swimming shorts and a towel. (…)” Read more here
